Scott Malcom: Music

Salvador

(Scott Malcom)
December 12, 2009

Inspired by Salvador Dali's work, this song speaks of a place that artists go to escape the box known as reality.

Who's in and who's out?

is that what this is all about?

Who won and who lost their battle this time?

There's truth and there's lies

and I know who's on my side.

I'll go but only if there's nothing to hide.

REFRAIN

Take a breath, take a breath of water

going down where the sun won't shine

Take my hand, take my hand, don't falter

throught the fire, we'll be just fine.

I'll go to your world of contour.

You can run to world of mine,

and smile on me Salvador

as everything melts away.

A place I've been

there is no start, no end

a place without boundary and time

This is my vow...

to take you there somehow.

Just take my hand and open your mind.

REFRAIN

I stand before your vision of the crucufied.

In a dark cathedral is where your light shines.

I turn to thank you,

and you say, "He's a friend of mine."

Salvador, I think it's time.

Salvador, my friend, I think it's time

to reappear, to re-emerge inside of lines.

Obey the world, submission to a common mind.

No they can never take what they can never find.
