Scott Malcom: Music

you're still here

(Scott Malcom)
January 21, 2006
from Shine album

Written in 2004, You're Still Here is still one of the crowd favorites at Scott's performances on the East Side of Milwaukee. Ironically, this song was written when Scott was truly alone, so You're Still Here is actually a song of hope for the future.

You’ve seen the worst in me,

and you come with open arms.

You’ve seen who I mean to be,

and you proceed with no alarm...no alarm.

The way you look at me, it almost makes me cry

for the world I could not see

and all the love passing me by...passing me by.

My defenses are crumbling, and my heart feels something.

Your intentions are clear. You’re still here.

The shadow is shifting and your love is lifting me up

above all my fear.

You’re still here.

You’re still here when you feel I’ve lost my way.

You’re still here when I don’t know what to say.

You’re still here and I know you’re here to stay.

What have I done in all my past to deserve you in my life?

And time it moves so fast with you by my side...you by my side.
